President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo today swore in the Member of Parliament for Walewale Constituency, Hon. Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu, and Hon. Francisca Oteng-Mensah, (MP for Kwabre East Constituency) as Minister and Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection respectively.

The ceremony was held at the Banquet Hall of the Jubilee House on Wednesday, 28th, December, 2022. Congratulations to Hajia Lariba Abudu, MP-Walewale Constituency.

It would be recalled that the President of the Republic appointed them for their respective positions in August this year, subject to the approval of parliament.

The Ministry for Gender, Children and Social protection became vacate following the President’s revocation of the appointment of the Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya on 28th July, 2022.

Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu is a native of Janga-Fio, in the West Mamprusi Municipal of the North East Region. She is a Ghanaian politician and a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party. Before she became a Member of Parliament in 2021, she was appointed by President Akufo-Addo as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Development Authority in 2018. She obtained her first degree (Special Education) in 2004 and Masters in Leadership and Development in 2015.
