Each month, SASSA disburses various social grants, such as the Older Persons Grant, Disability Grant, Children’s Grants, and the SRD (R370), according to a set schedule.
For October 2025, some dates have already been confirmed, and we also have the projected SRD window.
Below is what is known now, along with what to watch out for.
Confirmed Grant Payment Dates for October 2025
According to multiple credible sources, the dates for the major SASSA grants in October 2025 are:
- Older Persons Grant: Thursday, 2 October 2025
- Disability Grant: Friday, 3 October 2025
- Children’s Grants & other related grants (Child Support, Foster Care, Care Dependency, Grant-in-Aid, etc.): Monday, 6 October 2025
The Care Dependency Grant, which is aligned with the children’s grants group, is also expected to be paid on Monday, 6 October 2025.
These confirmed dates apply to the main social grants (the ones paid early in the month).
Projected SRD (R370) Payment Window for October 2025
The SRD (R370) grant follows a different payment cycle than the main social grants.
It is usually paid toward the end of the month. Based on published projections and past patterns:
- The estimated SRD payment window for October 2025 is 25 to 30 October 2025
- Some sources suggest the SRD window may align more tightly (for example, October 25 to October 30) rather than starting earlier in the month
Because the SRD payments are batch-based and depend on verification processes (identity, banking, etc.), individual paydays may vary within that window.
What Can Change & Things to Note
- The grant amounts for October 2025 will see a small R10 increase across many social grants.
- Weekends, public holidays, or system delays may shift or affect the actual dates slightly.
- For the SRD (R370) grant, the published window is a projection — your personal payment day might fall on any date within that range, depending on verification status and when your application is processed.
- Always check the official SASSA status portal closer to the dates, because official announcements or corrections may occur.
What You Should Do as a Beneficiary
- Keep your personal details, banking information, and contact number up to date in the SASSA / SRD system.
- In the days before 2 October, check your status to confirm whether your grant has been approved and your payment date is assigned.
- For SRD recipients, monitor your status from around 20 October onward, since the payment window begins around the 25th.
- Use multiple checking methods (online portal, SMS, WhatsApp, call) in case one is unavailable or slow.
- If your status is “Approved” but no payment date appears, ensure your verification is complete (identity, banking, etc.).
- If you still don’t receive your payment after your date passes, contact SASSA or visit a local office with proof of status.
